Why the hell are american crowds so boring?

Was watching Muse on MTV playing in america its been about a week since i was at ”the irish glastonbury”, now ye don’t have to be a fan of their music to go nuts to it but all the americans did was stand there swaying/showing the rock sign/some girls dancing sexily. As my sister said ”it looks liek the crowd is in slow-mo whilst the band is playing in real time”

Even at the music festival i was at, chatting to random americans & they were like ”the crowds here are so much more energetic”. I always thought american artists were just egging the crowd on when saying ”you guys are crazy” etc but it seems not to be?
Neazy: yes that makes so much sense, people would buy a ticket to a ”terrible band” to just stand around

PS obviously not ALL american crowds are like this but jesus the average crowd compared to uk/ireland is terrible

Maybe due to the fact Muse are a terrible band?

  • Audrey:

You based your opinion off a Muse concert on MTV?

  • Ethan:

Look at crowds at those shitty Lady CaCa/Kesha concerts. Millions on brainless lemmings on speed.

You base your observations from watching one concert on drab MTV and think all concerts in America are just like that? You Brits are amazingly clueless!

  • Raymond:

I saw Muse in ‘07 at Vegoose, and the crowd was the exact same way. And then Rage Against the Machine came on afterwards and all hell broke loose, kids getting knocked out and trampled, glass bottles flying everywhere, it was a horror show. I honestly think it’s just Muse. They’re hard rock indeed, but not a band many would freak out for live.

  • ~`KaWaii GiRL `~ NOT :P lol:

    depends on the crowd

beacsue they eat too many burgers

  • ZoSo:

well, i look at it this way, at a concert you should be energetic yes but keep it under control, you don`t want mosh pits or riots starting or anything

This is very true. And crowds from the UK and across the seas tend to sing louder as well, and even draw bigger crowds! But it could just be the hype, but for example Muse is originally from over seas, so it might be that ‘home field advantage’ type of thing, but I’ve noticed it with other bands as well, and it might just be because of the hype like I said they might not tour over there that much and they’re so excited to see them, but I could def be wrong!

    :D

It depends where you are. Go to a concert in Houston where the entire crowd is drunk, or better yet an Oakland Raiders game. You’ll change your mind and go "Damn those Americans are crazy"
