Please read this first. Ok, my dad from Ireland and my family over there doesn’t like America too much. They call me and my siblings yanks, and they really hate my mom because she’s 1st generation Irish American. But it’s funny though because they don’t even realize how influenced they are by America. My dad loves Johnny Cash and Elvis, that’s all he ever listened to as a kid. If it wasn’t for those two there would be no Who, Queen, Beatles, or any of the others. Pete Townshend even said they stole America’s music (not in a bad way). My grampa over therw LOVES the Wild West, and reads books about it and watches movies, etc. Also my cousins over there don’t really care about me and my siblings very much (even though we’re their only cousins who live outside Ireland), and they probably don’t like us because we’e American, but when they sent over pictures to my parents, they were at an American Country themed festival in their small town.

It’s so funny how Europeans are so influenced by America and love American culture but then hate us. When I went to Memphis during Elvis Week last year, everyone was German, English, etc. Hardly any of the tourists were even American. So why do you guys hate America so much? Most American are not loud-mouths, I’m really quiet and nice….

P.S. When my cousin visted last summer she flat out told me she hated Americans. I was so shocked that she said it right to my face. I lived in Ireland for 3 years BTW.

Ummmm I come from a middle-class Irish immigrant family and I could go to Harvard and become a millionaire if I wanted to. Trust me, this is the land of opportunity. If I got straight A’s in school I would become rich. This IS the land of opportunity only if you TRY HARD, not complain like all the liberals do. Most of the filthy rich conservatives in this country all made it for themselves after growing up poor. Europe’s perception of America is so skewed because you guys just listen to the liberal media. Anyone can become rich in this country if they just try hard. Actually minorities have it even easier because cooleges accept them faster than they do whites. I feel sorry for you Europeans that you actually fall for the lies of the liberal media.
P.S. I don’t know why Europeans automatically assume that just because we lower taxes, that only benefits rich people. My dad is a carpenter for God’s sake and he loves when taxes are lowered.
