Why the hell are american crowds so boring?

Was watching Muse on MTV playing in america its been about a week since i was at ”the irish glastonbury”, now ye don’t have to be a fan of their music to go nuts to it but all the americans did was stand there swaying/showing the rock sign/some girls dancing sexily. As my sister said ”it looks liek the crowd is in slow-mo whilst the band is playing in real time”

Even at the music festival i was at, chatting to random americans & they were like ”the crowds here are so much more energetic”. I always thought american artists were just egging the crowd on when saying ”you guys are crazy” etc but it seems not to be?
Neazy: yes that makes so much sense, people would buy a ticket to a ”terrible band” to just stand around

PS obviously not ALL american crowds are like this but jesus the average crowd compared to uk/ireland is terrible

*Sat – Dublin

Not sure we should plan much since Festival is happening – If for some reason this doesn’t work then guessing we will tour Dublin – maybe the hop on bus. Not sure where to eat yet – but then wanting to hit the rest of the pubs on the must list I have been taking notes on

*Sunday – Head to Bunratty

Head back to airport to get a car hire – Want to enjoy the drive to Bunratty – Should make it in time to tour the castle and Folk Park. Debating Banquet or just eat at local pubs – guess it will depend on if we get to tour the castle early enough – Thoughts?

Staying at Bunratty Manor

*Monday – Cliffs of Moher

Heading up to spend some time hopefully enjoying the view! Have had a few suggestions for lunch near by and then taking the trip back near Dublin to stay at the Clontarf Castle Hotel. Hoping that we won’t have to drive through city traffic and got a great deal!

*Tuesday – Fly out of dublin airport

After our last Irish Breakfast head back to Airport – turn in Car and fly back to States!

Knowing this won’t do Ireland justice but hits all of our Must Sees! Cliffs, Castle, St. Parick’s Festivals, Stay in Castle Hotel, Stay in local owned Manor, Real local Pubs with music and dancing! Any suggesions – tips – welcome! Would really love meal advise.

Things to do and places to see in Montreal….especially, cultural?

I will be visiting Montreal in June for 4 to 5 days . Could you tell me what are the BEST places to visit and and BEST things to do in Montreal, within a not-so-high budget ( I am a student ) ?

a) I am interested in the French-Canadian ( folk ? ) culture, music, dancing . Please inform me. Are there any places where I can get something similar to Irish river-dancing or Argentine Tango dancing on streets ? You see my point ! Is there any cultural festival ?

b) I am also interested in Museums and the History of the city Montreal. What are the places to visit ?

c) Where can I get TRADITIONAL food/beer ?

d) What are the other MUST-SEE places and MUST-DO things ?

e) Do they accept US dollars ?

Why is Europe so jealous of America?

Please read this first. Ok, my dad from Ireland and my family over there doesn’t like America too much. They call me and my siblings yanks, and they really hate my mom because she’s 1st generation Irish American. But it’s funny though because they don’t even realize how influenced they are by America. My dad loves Johnny Cash and Elvis, that’s all he ever listened to as a kid. If it wasn’t for those two there would be no Who, Queen, Beatles, or any of the others. Pete Townshend even said they stole America’s music (not in a bad way). My grampa over therw LOVES the Wild West, and reads books about it and watches movies, etc. Also my cousins over there don’t really care about me and my siblings very much (even though we’re their only cousins who live outside Ireland), and they probably don’t like us because we’e American, but when they sent over pictures to my parents, they were at an American Country themed festival in their small town.

It’s so funny how Europeans are so influenced by America and love American culture but then hate us. When I went to Memphis during Elvis Week last year, everyone was German, English, etc. Hardly any of the tourists were even American. So why do you guys hate America so much? Most American are not loud-mouths, I’m really quiet and nice….

P.S. When my cousin visted last summer she flat out told me she hated Americans. I was so shocked that she said it right to my face. I lived in Ireland for 3 years BTW.

Ummmm I come from a middle-class Irish immigrant family and I could go to Harvard and become a millionaire if I wanted to. Trust me, this is the land of opportunity. If I got straight A’s in school I would become rich. This IS the land of opportunity only if you TRY HARD, not complain like all the liberals do. Most of the filthy rich conservatives in this country all made it for themselves after growing up poor. Europe’s perception of America is so skewed because you guys just listen to the liberal media. Anyone can become rich in this country if they just try hard. Actually minorities have it even easier because cooleges accept them faster than they do whites. I feel sorry for you Europeans that you actually fall for the lies of the liberal media.
P.S. I don’t know why Europeans automatically assume that just because we lower taxes, that only benefits rich people. My dad is a carpenter for God’s sake and he loves when taxes are lowered.

One kind of music in Europe is Irish Folk. The Balver Hoehle is the home of the annual Irish Folk & Celtic Music. Rudolstadt is the host of a festival with Worldmusic. Important classical composers from Europe include Beethoven, Mozart and Bach.

Europe consists of many different genre’s of music, ranging form pop, rap, hip’hop, r’n'b, dance, jazz, soul etc. Europe overlapps all the cultural movements of music, and is intertwined within itself. It is a whole world of music.

Not so sure what I want to do after high school? Need a second career option. Please help!

Hey, I’m a fifteen year old who’s going to be a sophomore in high school. I say I get pretty decent grades (All A’s and I got a C in Algebra), I’m going to be in the choir, golf team, SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions), the yearbook and I can play three instruments : the flute (8 – 9 years), fife (3 – 4 years), and piccolo (2 years).

Ever since I was so young I knew what I wanted to do as an adult – I wanted to write young adult books and pursue a career that I love to wake up every morning to. I never wanted to be a person who had a job they absolutely hated going to. Writing has always been a passion of mine, I’ve been writing ever since I had my first journal (where I put my short stories in), I’ve won a couple writing contests and I even got to meet an author in the fourth grade when I won a writing contest and meeting that person who was doing what I wanted to do just made me even more dead set on knowing that this is what I’m going to be doing for the rest of my life.

Well, in seventh grade I started trying to write my book but ever since then I just seem to delete it and start a new story then delete that story and start a new one. I just can’t seem to stick with my story. Maybe it’s because I’m so afraid that I won’t be successful at what I do.

Now I’m going to be a sophomore and I’m having second thoughts. I know, I know for a fact that I still want to be an author – but I’m thinking that I may need a second option just in case. But the question is – I’m not sure what my "second option" can be!

The one thing I know for a fact I never want to be is I don’t want to be a lawyer, teacher, or anything involving medicine. A lawyer in my opinion would be too boring of a job for me and it won’t allow me to release my creative outlet that I have. And as for anything in the medical field – well my mom is a nurse – a very successful one but seeing as to what she had to go through – I don’t want to go through that, besides she sort of advises me not to be a nurse from her personal experience – she loves it but there’s a love/hate relationship with it. Besides, after a year of Honors Physical Science and trying to get ready for either Chemistry or Biology both the teacher and I know that anything in the medical field wouldn’t work for me. It’s not something that could hold my interest. As for a teacher – let’s just say I’m not the most patient person in the world so I don’t think it would work out with me teaching kids.

So I wiped out those three options, but the biggest worry is what’s there to choose?

I tried to choose based on my interests and what I’m really passionate about doing (besides writing) and here’s what I came up with :

- I love making stuff on the computer – signatures, wallpapers, avatars. I have like Paint Shop Pro or whatever and I just like making stuff with it. I’m not the best at it, but with practice and a lot of hard work I’ve become increasingly better. My blending is a whole lot better and less sloppy. I’m the person my friends go to when they need something for their Myspace. But I’m also not the most technical person in the world – while I know what I’m doing when I make the little graphics – I don’t know the computer terms that may be used.

- Playing the flute, I’m very passionate when it comes to music, I absolutely love it and I don’t think my life would be any good without it. I love playing so many classical pieces on my flute and I also like to play a lot of Irish music with my flute and fife. I do have some trouble sometimes when it comes to making sure the rythm is played exactly how it should – but that’s because I can be a little impatient. However, when I actually clap it out it comes out nicely. I love being in flute competitions and just performing at churces, retirement homes, local festivals – anything of the sort – oh and I love marching band.

- I also like to help my friends with giving advice (which is why I come on here), I love helping my friends whether it’s about relationships, their family issues, trouble with friends, etc. I guess I just feel good knowing that I gave someone advice – it might not always be the best – but it’s usually okay.

Those, I would say are my three main interest besides fashion and clothes and reading. I’m stuck. I’ve thought about doing something like physcology, I don’t know why I like it – I’ve just thought about it as interesting or maybe becoming like a family therapist or something. But I don’t want to be going to school forever and I’m scared it would be too hard.

See this is where I’m having trouble – always second guessing myself and my goals I might have. So if anybody can help me out of what careers might be best for someone like me, it would help out a ton. Like I said before – I’m dead set on becoming an author and I will do anything it takes – but I think a second option is needed if I want to bring home the cheddar.

Also I don’t know if it helps – but I don’t want a family when I grow up. At seven I made it clear that I don’t want children. In fact when I’m twenty I’d love to get my tubes tied. I never wanted kids because I always wanted a career – besides I think I’d be super selfish to have kids seeing as I’d work full time and never be home to take care of the kids.

Any help is much appreciated also if you can give me an idea of where I could go to college. I’ve always, always had a dream of going to NYU – but I have to be realistic and have at least a few other idea’s. I live in Ohio and I know for a FACT that I want an OUT of state college. I need to get out of this state so badly it’s not even funny, I just need to see something other than Ohio. So an out of state is a must with me.

I know this is a lot to ask but I know some of you who are older must know what I feel like. I just need a little help. I appreaciate any help. Thank you. :)
